For many years, it has been in perpetuum that the brass music is the type for the police or military bands. The bands used to entertain during state functions like Madaraka day, Mashujaa and also national events. It was a onetime awaited event where the well whipped into shape and rehearsed drills were displayed skillfully by the statesmen. It pulled many due to how unique and symphonic the music was, people could always poke and scrape together just to see this artistic and picturesque music that towed them from their homes just to come and see the performance then go back as soon s they were done with entertainment. You could clearly see the declined numbers. What a tbt?
Now the blending and chiming music is brought to you by the
St. Joseph Cathedral Brass Band. It is not just music, but also the color of
the uniform and the grandstand of the musical instruments will leave you
wanting more of the entertainment. The mellow music seduces the ears and you
won’t realize how you end up being frenzied and yearning for more. Unlike how
people used to wait for a onetime event, the band brings this entertainment to
any event that you wish.
the Event business has grown in number since they were first started , the popularity of events has not only been a business opportunity but also a place to meet people, network, interact and have fun.
I was conducting my research on the relevance of these events and the feedback was quite interesting, 45% of people said yes and when I got to interact with them they had credible points, most said the type of events these days have improved and seem to be heading on the right track.
26% said Maybe and this is what one of them had to say ‘Sometimes you go for an event and it’s really amazing and fun but once you go for it the second time it getting boring and monotonous”
There was a close margin and 24% of people who took the survey said they don’t attend events because they would rather save the money and do other things .
The minority of people who were 4% said No some compliances were about ticket prices and venue issues.
All in all the feedback only comes to show that events are a personal pleasure and depends on the person.
The music can be heard blaring from a distance as I approach the scene it’s the Safaricom jazz festival event that is sponsored by Safaricom that was held at carnivore grounds. It’s a classy subtle and amazing event. It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends and family over amazing food and great music.
So as we get in into
the event my squad is very excited on stage Two-time Grammy award winner Marcus Miller will headline the
Safaricom International Jazz Festival they are playing a number from their album that
talks about Africa and its beauty its infused with amazing melodies from the
trumpet, the crowd is having fun and looks good dressed in Ankara the theme for
this year.
Safaricom being the largest mobile service provider in Kenya always find a way of giving back to the community at the same time it mingles with their customers the tickets are quite affordable with regular tickets going for 1500 Kenyan shillings each and student’s tickets go for 500 Kenyan shillings, this ensures an inclusive nature that Safaricom aims at show casing in fact their slogan is Nawe kila wakati and even better they are to donate the proceedings to the ghetto classics which is a community based program that aims to transform lives of over 650 children in Korogocho, Huruma, Dandora and Mukuru kwa Reuben, as well as students from Farasi Lane Primary School and Muthangari Primary School in Nairobi
The intricacy of the
event is how it’s meant to be a family event they allow food from outside and
encourages a picnic approach where family and friends come together and share a
meal over great music. The most fascinating thing I noticed is how people from
different races, age brackets , gender and economic classes all come together
just for the love of jazz.
My squad is busy dancing
and enjoying the day away, as I take a walk I can see tents some have food
others drinks but what caught my eye was the ma soko tent, ma soko is an mobile
application that was created to make online shopping easy, this is an amazing
way to network with the customers and improve sales.
Safaricom being a
cooperate also aims itself at giving back to the community and what better way
to do so than hold such an event on international jazz day it’s a way of
celebrating culture music, friendship and interactions on not only a local
level but an international level. This s an amazing way to close the global
bridge and unite the world on what better way than a language that is understood
by all and that is the language of music.
The event is great
way to network and build a better society, I would recommend that you should
attend the next event and have an amazing time with friends, family or even a
loved one trust me its value for your money.
